Safe Operation Specifications for Concrete Pump Truck On-Site Construction

18 Jun, 2026

Safety operation is the top priority for concrete pump truck construction; standardized operating procedures eliminate collapse, pipe burst and falling accidents, protecting operators, construction workers and equipment assets. All operators must receive professional training and hold valid operation certificates before taking posts.

Site preparation safety rules come first. Before unfolding support legs, select flat, solid ground; soft soil or backfilled foundation must be paved with thick steel plates to prevent vehicle tilting during pumping. Fully extend all four outriggers and lock each support cylinder firmly, never operate the boom with partial legs retracted. Keep the boom away from overhead high-voltage power lines, maintaining a safety gap of at least 6 meters for high-voltage cables above 10kV to avoid electric shock hazards. Mark warning zones under the boom coverage radius and forbid irrelevant staff from entering.

Standard pumping operation steps regulate boom movement and concrete delivery. Unfold the boom section by section following the manufacturer’s sequence, no sudden fast rotation or sharp angle folding that creates huge hydraulic impact. Adjust concrete discharge flow gradually, avoiding instant maximum flow which easily triggers pipeline blockage. When moving the boom, remind ground workers to stay clear of the end hose to prevent impact injuries caused by hose swinging under high pressure. Never stand under the suspended boom or place heavy materials on support legs.

Emergency safety rules handle unexpected risks during operation. Once pipe blockage happens, stop pumping immediately and activate reverse pump mode; do not dismantle pipeline joints before releasing all internal pressure, as residual high-pressure concrete will eject violently and cause severe wounds. If abnormal boom shaking, strange hydraulic noise or vehicle tilting occurs, cut off pumping power and retract the boom completely for inspection. During thunderstorms, suspend all pumping work and fold the boom to the lowest position to prevent lightning strikes.

After pouring finishes, retract the boom in reverse unfolding order, clean residual concrete and lock all control switches. Record daily safety check conditions in operation logs. Abiding by full-set safety specifications minimizes construction risks, ensuring stable, accident-free operation of concrete pump trucks throughout long-term project cycles.
